About Our Little League Organization
Westphal Field, named after William “Bill” Westphal, who coached for several years in Trappe. Coach Westphal lived by his coaching motto, “Heart and Hustle.”
The Trappe Little League is a member of the Home Run Baker Little League, a chartered Little League baseball division. Home Run Baker Little League is named after John Franklin “Home Run” Baker, who played professional baseball from 1908 through 1922. “Home Run” Baker was born on March 13, 1886 on a farm in Trappe, Maryland. He lead the American League in home runs from 1911 to 1914. He finished his career with 96 home runs, a batting average of .307 and 991 runs batted in.
Trappe Little League is comprised of youth, ages 4 to 12, in and around the town of Trappe and within the current White Marsh school district. Home Run Baker Little League is comprised of players from Trappe, St. Michaels and Cordova areas.
Our park facility is located on main street in Trappe, which consists of two complete little league baseball fields with permanent fencing, and a regulation sized infield diamond that can be used for practice or tee ball games. We also have a concession stand stocked with typical baseball food throughout the season.
